Honda’s Short takes Seattle win Roczen second

Honda’s Andrew Short scored the first top finish of his career in the premier class in Seattle. Powerhouse Ryan Villopoto of Monster Energy Kawasaki went down early in the race and didn’t return, leaving the front spot wide open for the first time in months. Short was able to grab the Nuclear Cowboyz holeshot and retained the lead for the entire race. It was the first Supercross victory of his veteran career.

“It doesn’t feel real,” exclaimed Short. “My team has been through some challenges, but we stuck together. There are so many people who have helped me in 11 years of doing this. I’m getting old. I didn’t believe (I could win) too much until the end and I think that’s been one of my problems in the past. All I wanted to do was be out here and to win is unreal.”

Marvin Musquin hard earned 6th place Toronto SX

Red Bull/KTM Factory rider Marvin Musquin fought to a hard earned 6th place at Rogers Stadium in front of the Canadian crowd. Toronto marked Musquin’s last race in the Supercross class before he returns to California to begin training for his return to the West Supercross Lites class. In his heat race, he got off to a decent start and was able to finish 6th to qualify to the main event.

In the main event Musquin got off to a mid-pack start and quickly moved past a few riders to cross the first lap in 6th place. A few mistakes in the early part of the race dropped him to 9th at the halfway point. Near the final laps he began to pick up the pace and moved up to 7th. On the final lap he closed in on the 6th place ride of Kyle Chisholm. With half a lap left he was able to secure the pass and take home 6th place for the night.
